A couple of months ago, I came across an online site that would send you clothing every few weeks after you first filled out a lengthy profile about your likes, personal style, price preference, size, shape, etc... It is called Stitch Fix. Have you heard of it? I figured-what the heck. Why not give it a go? So I did.
After a few weeks, a box arrived on my doorstep. I eagerly opened it and found a good looking and surprisingly well fitting pair of pants and earrings that worked for me. But the other items were not winners, so I sent them back in their pre-addressed and stamped pack. This was probably the best box I received as the rest were increasingly less desirable.
On the most recent delivery, my husband and I actually enjoyed a huge laugh after looking over the box's contents. Light wash jeggings, a super sized top that screamed "Maternity" and a ill fitting jacket were a few of the duds. Really awful. So my experiment with online clothes shopping is o-v-e-r unless I am familiar with the product in advance.
To be fair to Stitch Fix, I am pretty certain that this company is geared toward a much younger clientele than my age group. So for some people, it may be a fantastic option. But as to shopping in general, I have come to realize that the hunt is what I love most. Going into a store and wondering what treasures await me and seeing the clothes up close and in person and getting a feel of the fabric and seeing how it flows. All of these factors are missing for me in the online world. So how about you? Are you a fan of buying clothing online or do you prefer to buy them in the store? We would love to know! ~ Cathy.
