Once we all find a style of jeans we like we hold on to them! That makes sense as a great fitting pair of jeans cannot be beaten. However, don't be afraid to try out a different style of denim to change up your look every now & then.
I am what is classified as a curvy fit & for years wore a boot cut style as they helped to balance out my hips. Then one day I tried on Loft Curvy Fit Skinny jeans &, et voilà, they fitted great & looked much better than I ever thought a skinny jean would on me! (I've also had success with Target & Lucky Brand curvy fit jeans too.) Now I swap between my boot cut style & my curvy fit skinny jeans; this gives me lots of different style options. The same rules also apply to cords & pants.
I like to wear my boot cut styles with strappy/sleeveless tops as I think this look helps balance out the hips & the wider leg.
I like to wear my skinny jeans with a bit more volume on top, again to help create balance, but this time the volume is on top because of the skinny leg of the jean.
So, in summary, don't be afraid to try out some different jean styles & remember if you have a wider leg jean or pant keep your top half slightly more fitted; if you opt for a skinny leg style, keep your top half loose & not too clingy. ~ Andrea.
