In a previous posting we pointed out that the bootie (ankle boot) didn't look quite right when worn with skirts. So, if you can't wear those with your skirts in the colder months, what will look right?
Take a look at the styles we are showing here. They show that when it comes to skirts in winter, the following usually work:
1. Wear tights. Thin pantyhose just won't work, plus the thicker tights are much better at keeping your legs warm. Don't forget, as we have posted in our Q & A section, tights do not have to be plain; there are some great subtle patterns available to add some interest.
2. Enclosed & solid shoes. What we mean by this is a style of shoe that covers a large part of the foot. Anything with open sides, or toes, will not look right when trying to pull off the keep warm, winter look. Heels or flats will both look great.
3. Knee high boots. This look works as long as the skirt (or sweater dress) is not too short & the boots fall just below the knee. If the boots are too short you run the risk of making your legs look stumpy as they will visually 'cut' your legs at the wrong spot.
