Parties, Open Houses, Holiday events - what to wear? My standard party uniform consists of black pants and tank top, with rotating jackets and sweaters. It's an easy look to pull off and is appropriate for the Symphony as well as house parties or the office shindig. I have a couple of sequined jackets to up my game, and a sparkly sweater or two for more casual outings. With all the hustle and bustle this time of year, don't stop to worry about what to wear! Pants from Talbots, Worth New York jacket and Stella & Dot jewelry. Stay festive ~ Pat
That's what we thought! But in the fashion world, mid August means the start of Fall Fashion Season. Pat Boland and I took in our first show that was put on at Tootsies by the women's networking group Ellevate. Gorgeous outfits from various designers were worn by stunning models.Designers included: #rebeccataylor #milly #Dianevonfurstenberg #normakamali #blackhalo
Choosing an outfit to wear to any fashion show is always a bit challenging. You want to look current and stylish but summery dresses don't seem quite right for such an event. Pat and I both ended up wearing fitted black pants with flowey blouses and strappy black heels as we mentally shoped for new fall ensembles. ~ Cathy

It is possible to wear 2 shades of pink, just keep one of them toned down such as these pale blush pants. Top is CAbi, pants are White House Black Market, Pumps are Sam Edelman.

Don't be afraid to mix colors. Experiment a little & you'll find some great combinations. Here I have a bright fuchsia top, but even though I have a few other colors in the outfit, they are all neutrals: light olive, tan, & blush pink (in the bag). These neutrals keep the outfit from being 'too much'. Top & bag are Banana Republic; pants are CAbi.

I am loving all the comfy and cool wide leg pants this season. They are a nice alternative to sundresses or shorts and can be dressed up or down from day to evening. Throw on a lightweight top, some sandals and silver jewelry, and you're good to go anywhere! ~ Pat.
Have you spotted all the great print pants everywhere? So festive and comfortable, they are a "must" for this season. I actually saw this Joseph Ribkoff pair on a model at a local fashion show, and rushed over to the shop as soon as it was over. I plan on wearing them a lot, dressed up or casual. Perfect for travel too! ~ Pat.
So you are invited to another holiday party and want to break out of your little black dress routine. But what do you choose instead? Personally, I am just wild about this cool embellished chiffon top. I love the intricate detailing and the unusual design. This would be a real show stopper when worn with a pair of fitted black pants or a pencil shirt. Toss on a pair of pointy toe heels and you are good to go. ~ Cathy.
Unless you are in the madness that is "Black Friday" you may be lounging chez vous and enjoying the start of a long and relaxing weekend. Basially the only thing on my to-do list is to put up the Christmas tree. This would be my ensemble of choice for such a luxurious day. What are you doing today? ~ Cathy.
It's finally feeling like Fall here in Houston! Time to organize your closet and rediscover some pieces from last year that still look great. I added a new Worth New York jacket to a pullover from last year's line as well as some slacks from Talbot's distant past that never seem to wear out. I love adding items that bring new life to old favorites! Cheers ~ Pat.

After mentioning that I liked sailor pants I decided that I'm going to invest in a pair. These are some I found online but I can't decide which are my favorite: which do you prefer? ~ Andrea.
After showing Pat looking great in her cropped pants yesterday, here are a few more we found that you might like. To find these click on the images.
