Did you watch the Golden Globes award show last night? Oh we sure did! Lots of looks to like, and bunches that made us think “What was she thinking?” (Oh Keira Knightley… dear, dear.)
Do you sometimes feel that it’s only the younger women who get the most press? Well maybe the times are a 'changing as some of the best looks were seen on real live mature women! They went with flattering, yet age appropriate choices, and made some serious fashion statements. Here are a few of the women we think nailed it last night:
How cool was it to see the inimitable Helen Mirren rocking it in her long sleeve fitted red gown! Was she possibly the best dressed woman of the night? Flawless! And Julianne Moore just killed it with her gorgeous stunner of a dress. Her shimmery silver number from Givenchy Haute Couture with the feathery trim was fantastic. Edgy, but oh so right. And another standout was Felicity Huffman’s white knee length choice with sheer silver panels on each side from top to bottom. Felicity is in her 50s and has a dynamite shape so this dress was incredibly flattering. We were wowed by Julia Louis Dreyfus. She has definitely gotten better looking with age and is in the best shape of her life! Her one-shouldered white column dress was one of the top looks of the night. What about Catherine Zeta-Jones in her strapless red taffeta gown? She looked like old Hollywood glamour. Red also worked wonders for Viola Davis. She literally beamed in her strapless Donna Karan and looked completely majestic. A tomato red chiffon with a slit was a solid choice for Allison Janey. Her gown was wonderful-sexy and sophisticated and one of our favorites!
