Anyone else spot those cool retro small kitchen appliances at Target in great colors like mint green? The super nice sales lady at Nordstrom told me mint is one of the top colors for Spring 2015! Definitely brings back some memories. Since I always have to be current (and had a gift card), I immediately snatched up this great light sweater. I paired it with a white cami from WH/BM. Will wear with white or blue jeans, black slacks or a print skirt. The best part, when I dug through my jewelry drawer, I found some great pieces that blend really well. Maybe this was a favorite color and I just never knew? Retro earrings and reversible necklace from Stella & Dot, bracelets from my private collection.
When in doubt about an outfit pairing, a black and white combo is always a winner! Polished enough for work and snazzy enough for after work fun. Blouse from Bevello, bracelets are silver bangles from Thomas Markle Jewelry. The pants are from TJ Maxx by a line called Dalia Collection. They are a poly/spandex mix, almost like leggings, but they zip and have a waistband: comfortable & stylish!
Have a date night or office holiday party coming up? We know that the little black dress will never go out of style, but how about breaking the mold & trying a little blue dress. Just as sophisticated as black, this shade of navy blue is still very flattering. In fact, for some people, navy looks better than black as it doesn't look as harsh against the skin.
Check out the back of this dress! Discreet at the front, with on trend lace, but shows off the back nicely. This is a great dress if you want to cover your shoulders & chest but don't mind showing off your back.
Pair this dress with a statement necklace & bracelet with pink tones, burgundy pumps & pewter clutch. The pewter bag, pink jewelry & burgundy pumps work well together. If it's cold throw on some skin colored pantyhose.
Don't forget a low back bra with a dress like this!
This is a great way to wear the on trend, seasonal cranberry color. Here we have skinny cranberry cords paired with a pair of taupe/pink booties, & a neutral ivory top. The understated color of the top allows the color of the pants to pop, plus it means there isn't too much color going on in one outfit! Finish this off with a modern hematite cuff bracelet & earrings.
Note: the draping on this top is very flattering & it provides some volume to balance the skinny fit pants.
Here is an easy dress to wear for date night. As we show here it can be worn 2 ways: loose in a tunic style, for those days when we need a bit of extra room, or, simply grab a ribbon style belt & cinch it in on those days you want to show of your curves!
The black & white print is small enough to not be overpowering. Pair it with a classic purple clutch, & black tights & booties for the cooler weather. Finish the look off with a simple bracelet - anything too big would 'compete' with the dress. Also keep the earrings simple.
This is an easy, cute outfit when attending a neighborhood party. The loose fit blouse is not too clingy & the cargo pants add a nice modern touch. The heeled boots go to just below the knees to prevent the legs looking 'chopped' halfway up the calf. The colors work well together as they are all from the warm brown family, ranging from peach to tan through to chocolate.
Tip: with a sheer, floaty blouse such as this, make sure to wear a layering tank underneath.
One style we were sure would remain in the 80s is the jumpsuit, but, guess what, it's back!
Thankfully, this time, gone are the shoulder pads & sequins!
Jumpsuits now have more flow, using materials such as silk, faux silk & jersey. This makes the look & feel much more relaxed.
This jumpsuit is an overall print (prints are in!) but it works because the small print stops it being too much. As the jumpsuit is black & white pops of color have been added with the aqua shoes & blue, black & aqua clutch. Pair it with a long necklace and cuff bracelet & you are set for your evening out!
