Nothing says summer more than bright tones paired with white jeans! Don't be afraid to experiment with some bright colors....remember they don't have to match, they just have to go together. ~ Andrea.
Capes have been around a very long time. They are fun to wear, kind of daring and sexy too. This fall they are back in many different fabrics and colors. Capes remind me of football games and nights at the opera - they are the perfect accessory, anywhere! This plaid beauty with the pretty blue is from Worth New York. I can't wait for some cool weather. ~ Pat.

Living in Houston in the summer and trying to keep a decent looking hair style is mighty challenging. So we are always on the look out for products that deliver body and fullness that can stand up to triple digit temps with accompanying humidity. This one by Living Proof has been a winner in my book. It lasts a long time too. ~ Cathy.

If you're looking for a neutral polish that has some shine - I spotted this Essie shade called "Imported Bubbly." It gives you an updated white neutral look, but with a shimmer. It's a nice Summer color that goes with everything! ~ Pat.

It is possible to wear 2 shades of pink, just keep one of them toned down such as these pale blush pants. Top is CAbi, pants are White House Black Market, Pumps are Sam Edelman.

At last! The weekend upon us and I say, let the fun begin! Here is a cute little A-line number that is custom made for the good times ahead. I can just see this working for a brunch or lunch date, or to wear to a casual party. If you want a little more coverage a lightweight cardigan or even a denim jacket should do the trick. Flirty, fun and who doesn't love bananas?! ~ Cathy.
Remember when the only people wearing leather jackets were James Dean and Danny in "Grease?" While once the uniform of edgy guys in the movies, they are now a staple of every well-dressed gal's closet. This red beauty by Worth New York may just be on my shopping list for fall! ~ Pat.

Did you see my post on Jentry Kelley's make up line? Well, if you haven't snapped up one of the key products in getting the best look possible-primer, then this is for you! Primer is key in providing a smooth and flawless canvas to enhance one's complexion. ~ Cathy.
In spite of the soaring temperatures, the stores are featuring some fall styles already. I spotted this dress by Worth New York in their fall line that would be a perfect transition piece. I am in love with this pretty blue shade that flatters many skin tones. This style can be easily accessorized with a scarf, necklace, jacket or cardigan. A blazer makes it suitable for a business meeting or add sparkly jewelry and stilettos for an evening out. This is a perfect addition to your transition wardrobe. ~ Pat.
As much as summer sucks in Houston (the heat?!), I do love the fact I get to wear all my summer dresses :) Have some fun with prints & keep them semi fitted because we all know we'll sweat! ~ Andrea.
I often like wearing this flowy type of dress for fun summer events. It is easy to throw over my head and with the addition of a great sandal, I feel ready to head out to a festive outing. Dresses are my personal favorite ensemble as they require such little effort. Are you a fan of dresses too? ~ Cathy.

This was a perfect summer day on the Atlantic City, New Jersey Boardwalk in 1926. I love the hats and the smiles of my pretty grandma and her sisters. May all your days be bright and sunny! ~ Pat.
So you may have noticed all the white ensembles we have posting lately. Well, we can take that one step farther and recommend a crisp white polish for your nails. This color looks fantastic on short well manicured nails and gives a sleek modern finish to any outfit. ~ Cathy.

In continuing our white-on-white theme, I opted for comfy jeans from Chico's and an embroidered top from Nordstrom. I added some brown sandals, my new blue fringe purse, and favorite Kendra Scott earrings. This outfit kept me cool for a casual summer dinner with friends! ~ Pat.

Don't be afraid to mix colors. Experiment a little & you'll find some great combinations. Here I have a bright fuchsia top, but even though I have a few other colors in the outfit, they are all neutrals: light olive, tan, & blush pink (in the bag). These neutrals keep the outfit from being 'too much'. Top & bag are Banana Republic; pants are CAbi.

It's summer, it's hot, instantly look & feel cooler by wearing all white! The trick with all white? I find breaking up the white with texture or a small pattern stops it looking too uniform-ish. Here I'm wearing straight leg jeans (not too skinny/tight) & a knitted top. Jeans are from Target, top is from Loft. I finished off with silver colored sandals, bracelet & earrings.
What to wear to make a subtle but elegant statement? This pink dress with a nice cut would work so nicely for a daytime wedding paired with strappy gold sandals and lightweight dangly earrings. It's time to toast! ~ Cathy.

I have so many great family photos. This gem is probably 100 years old, my great-grandparents and ten of their eleven children. I wonder when photographers first started telling everyone to say "Cheese?" 😉 ~ Pat
Have you tried yoga? I hadn't done it in awhile, so I bought myself a new mat as inspiration. Why did I wait so long? It's fun and relaxing, and there were lots of age groups and levels of fitness. Definitely adding this back to my routine! Namaste ~ Pat.
Hope y'all are having a great start to your 4th July! Check out these photos from some fun I had at a makeup lesson recently. The first picture is me before, the second is 3 of us after our lesson :) In the lesson we actually did the applying. We used our stuff & the lady showed us how to create certain looks. Yvonne (white top) & I (blue top) went with more of an evening look, & Lynne (pink top) picked a day look. Looks a bit out of place with our casual clothes on but I don't think it looks too bad for our first day at beauty school! The lady teaching us was great: http://www.laleurre.com/
Is it blistering hot where you live? Here in Houston, with the arrival of summer this week, we are watching the thermostat go up, up, up. So what's a gal to do to look cool and polished for summer festivities? I vote for this white shift with black piping. And paired with these strappy heels, I think this would make for a very head-turning look. ~ Cathy.
