I love red but sometimes wearing all red can be a bit much. Solution, try an all over dark red such as this burgundy sweater dress. It's a more sophisticated way to wear all 'red'! ~ Andrea.
Once I get in gear to start working out, I have to have a really great product to get me in the mood to then get me in the shower. My very favorite shower product has to be this one. Who wouldn't adore a body wash that smells of rosemary? It is absolutely intoxicating. ~ Cathy.
Anyone else have a picture like this? No, I don't mean in a First Communion dress - I mean with a fake tree behind you? Ahh, memories. Happy Thursday! ~ Pat.
That only means one thing... time to start the lovely task of finding a new swimsuit. Even if it's still February, I have found in past years that to get the best selection, you really should start looking for a new suit now. If you wait until after Spring Break, they really get picked over. Here are a few that I a tempted to buy. What do you think? ~ Cathy.
I love this picture of four generations in my big Italian family - I am the "bambina" here. Remember when grandmas wore "house dresses" and sensible shoes? Looking at old photos brings back wonderful, and bittersweet memories. Wishing you many happy times with those you love ~ Pat.
I always used to think that if I used a wash cloth to help my facial cleanser do its job that I was really on top of my skin care. How wrong I was. I must strongly recommend this Clarisonic product that my mom bought for me a while back, It takes virtually no time, really makes a huge difference in my complexion and feels divine. And P.S.... I bought one in a masculine gray color for my husband. He loves it too! ~ Cathy.
I recently attended a free makeup lesson at a local plastic surgeon's med spa. I heard some great tips and tricks - I've been applying my concealer using my fingers when I should be using a small brush! These are fun events and it's probably time to update your look, right? I purchased some new Jane Iredale makeup and feel ready for a beautiful spring season. ~ Pat.
I came across this dress & thought what a great wear anywhere style. It's a nice length, the sleeves & higher neckline will keep you warm & cover up any bits we may not want on display, & the colors are pretty but not overbearing! ~ Andrea.
I love going all out with the red/pink themed look most of the time, but there are definitely years when I want to do something quite the opposite of those trademark colors. A boho look like this might be the ticket for this year. My birthday is the day after VD so sometimes a combo celebration approach is what happens. I would pair this with a fitted moto style denim jacket and feel totally polished. ~ Cathy.
Clearly, I've always been a fashionista. Note the matching purse, socks and shoes. Even the serious "model" look. Enjoy your day! ~ Pat.
I don't know about you, but this time of year, I seem to constantly deal with chapped lips. Sure, there are lip balms out there galore, but they often look very waxy and/or don't offer any pretty colors. But putting a regular lipstick or gloss over chapped and peeling lips results in a fairly hideous look. I just came across a new Bobbi Brown product that addresses my lip concerns. I like that it comes in natural colors that basically moisturize and look sharp. They really do a great job. ~ Cathy.
It's that time again - time to clean, purge and organize. Before you add any new warm weather pieces to your wardrobe, do a thorough check of what you have, and what you need. I do this at least a few times a year, so I usually just have a few things to toss. It does, however, make me assess what I'm lacking before I buy anything new I don't really need. If you haven't done a good closet clean in awhile, you might consider a professional organizer to help. The investment will be well worth it if it helps you stay on the organizational track and you may discover some hidden gems in your closet you forgot! ~ Pat.
Are you ready? The big day of romance is almost upon us. Think that's all a bunch of nonsense? Oh, me too basically, but I can go for any excuse to get a fancy new frock and go out on the town with my man. I would happily wear any of these gorgeous dresses. Do you have one that sparks your interest? ~ Cathy.
Do you have awesome hair? Then you are super lucky and can buy most any shampoo from a drug store and just be your fabulous bad self. But for those of us plagued with "troubled" hair-i.e. baby fine, thin, thinning, over-processed... products to address these issues must be given more consideration and often cost much more than you would have ever dreamed of paying for shampoo and conditioner.
Fortunately, the cost definitely pays off in improved hair quality, which in many cases, is a huge blessing. Check out my latest (pricey, but fabulous) find. Happily, these guys last for weeks and deliver results! ~ Cathy.
I had the privilege recently to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. They had a special exhibit of gowns and outfits from the collection of designer and fashion icon Jacqueline de Ribes. The styles and fabrics were absolutely stunning. Gorgeous jewel tones, black and white satin, beading, chiffon, tulle...I was in awe. These pieces are truly works of art. Although most of us will never have the occasion to wear such sumptuous dresses, it's still lots of fun to look and dream. ~ Pat.
