Last week, we featured a lovely bright green dress. It was a breath of fresh air, but I personally have a hard time getting away from black, white and gray. So how happy was I to come across this awesome stunner? It is such a classic paired with these super hot cropped boots. Helllooo Lover! ~ Cathy.
Many parts of the U.S. are still digging out from the snow. The rest of us are in the winter doldrums too. Don't forget that some retail therapy might help! I scored some great leather gloves and a nice winter coat at a very good price. There are still lots of bargains out there - online as well. It might take a bit of digging, but you'll be glad next fall when you open your closet and have some new classic pieces to wear. Beware, don't buy something just because it's on sale. Make sure you'd buy it even if it was full price, and enjoy the savings! Happy shopping ~ Pat.
A couple of years ago during a barre class, I was introduced to one of those hard foam roller things. I was skeptical, but once the instructor got me correctly positioned on one of these, I was not only amazed at how much it both hurt and stretched out my muscles at the same time! And when I say "hurt" it is more like the affect of a deep tissue massage... that feeling that while it is very intense you just know that you are going to get relief shortly afterwards. It may not be for everyone, but I absolutely love and use it often. Some say it will even alleviate cellulite, which would make it a miracle product indeed, but it definitely does wonders for sore muscles. ~ Cathy.
In the United States, women were not granted the right to vote until 1920. Many of our grandmothers could not cast a ballot when they were young. Check your state rules about deadlines to register, and don't forget to vote! Our ancestors worked too hard to win us that privilege. ~ Pat.
When the days are cooler & the weather can feel a bit, well, blarrgh, wearing something bright can make you feel better. Try bright, cooler, shades such as this fuchsia pink combined with royal blue. Pair with black shoes, bag & hat, & simple jewelry, as you don't want to clash. ~ Andrea.

When the weather is cooler I find that nothing beats a cashmere sweater. Not only does it keep you toasty warm but it also feels sooo soft & always look stylish. Wear it with jeans, a wool skirt, leather skirt & tights, straight leg pants... so many options. The key with cashmere is to invest in 1 or 2 quality pieces. ~ Andrea.
I don't know about you all, but I think I have been wearing an awful lot of black lately. My husband is a fan of color and I must admit that it definitely does give one a nice pick me up. I came across this extremely attractive dark green DVF dress with my favorite and most flattering fit. And don't you just love these gorgeous black patent pumps? I think the age of elegance is really making a comeback! ~ Cathy.
Remember when your mom and grandma always wore pearls for special occasions? It seemed that everyone back in the day had a strand in their jewelry box. They are not as popular today, but can be a fun accessory piece when mixed with other jewelry. I picked up these inexpensive bracelets and like to wear them with different gold, silver or multicolored bangles. The best thing about pearls - they match with anything! Dig through your jewelry drawer, I bet you have a strand - or three - you can throw on with whatever you're wearing. Pearls are not just for dress-up anymore and look really sharp when worn with denim and silver jewelry. Add to a pretty dress or be daring and pair with black leather. Fun! ~ Pat.

It has been ages since I have used powder eye shadow as part of my makeup routine. Once I discovered crème shadow along with crème blush, I jumped on board and rarely ever choose powder options. But whatever eye shadow version you use, the most important tip in keeping your lids crease-free is to wear a primer product. It definitely works to keep all the makeup in its place and lasts for many hours. A must have! ~ Cathy.
Black and white together never go out of style. It's a fresh look for spring when pairing off-white with black in this pretty pants suit and scarf from Worth New York. This is a great investment outfit purchase as all three pieces can be mixed and matched with others in your closet. ~ Pat.
I am a sucker for lace dresses. They always seem to be in fashion and range from sexy to demure. There is always a lace dress to be had for virtually any occasion. This one is just divine. So lady-like, yet it has a cool edge that keeps it from being too sweet. And the white shoes? Until recently, I would not have dared to wear white shoes with a black dress, but I have gotten intrigued by this look and am ready to give it a whirl! How about you? ~ Cathy.
Many of our generation can at least claim to have seen many of the great rock stars in concert. I've been to many, many live performances yet I still count this Springsteen concert as my all-time favorite. We carefully planned our outfits - designer jeans, polyester blouses and frosted blue eye shadow. Do you remember what you wore to your favorite concert? ~ Pat.
I have been very lazy about using makeup brushes. I so often grab an old implement to use or worst, just use my fingers. Every time I have gotten my makeup done by a professional, I have noticed a huge improvement in the outcome after they used the proper brushes. Finally, I caved in and started using brushes. At first, I took so much longer than my haphazard way, but eventually, it got easier and I could tell a big difference. This selection not only looks and works good, but packs well for travel. ~ Cathy.
Cathy posted an article yesterday about embellished jeans. I pulled this pair out of my closet - an expensive pair I bought years ago. They are actually quite comfortable and very slimming, but kind of out of style! Be realistic when cleaning out your closet - will I really ever wear these again? :-) ~ Pat.
Is working out to get in shape on your New Year's resolution? Mine too, as usual. I overdid it yesterday big time with a SIX mile fast walk in the park. So now I'm paying the price by way of sore muscles. No pain, no gain, but what's an aching gal to do? A soak with this fab L'Occitane lavender product makes it almost worth it! ~ Cathy.
